2015 Spring Gathering
TIP’s 2015 Spring Gathering was held on Tuesday, May 26, bringing together TIP Fellows from all four seminars to celebrate the end of another successful program year.
After refreshments and conversation, TIP’s director, Alan Lee, welcomed the Fellows and Seminar Leaders. One Fellow from each seminar shared reflections on their experiences and what they gained from TIP this year:
Cara Wallin (Shawmont Elementary School) – Electronics from Toys to Tools: An Adventure for Future Engineers
Wendi Umoren (Tilden Middle School) – Aliens and Others: African Americans [Re]Writing Generic Fiction
Alena Newpher-Lockard (Overbrook High School) – Penn Laboratory on Energy, Sustainability and Environment
Terry Anne Wildman (Overbrook Elementary School) – Roots of the American Empire
TIP also commemorated the retirement of Pat Mitchell-Keita-Doe, a longtime Fellow and Teacher Representative. TIP is grateful for Pat’s service and dedication to the program. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Thank you to all Fellows, Seminar Coordinators, Teacher Representatives, and Seminar Leaders for making this year a great success! Congratulations!
