The Panama Canal: Path to Global Destiny

This unit is designed for an 8^th grade Social Studies class and will explore the construction of the Panama Canal and its impact on the United States.  Students will achieve the objectives through hands on activities, Socratic Seminar, and the analysis of primary sources.  The final activity will consist of students creating journals documenting the experiences of the individuals that they read about during the unit.
