Possible Worlds (I)

This 12 week project is about worlds that do or could exist. Learners will read Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, and two short stories; Blood Child, by Octavia Butler, and I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. Each of these shows a world that could exist, and each world follows a different set of rules and social mores. Through these books, we’ll examine the science, technology, and rules that govern the people, via governmental and social structures. In Brave New World, the world is divided into five different classes- Alpha through Epsilon- and each one is specifically conditioned from birth to think their specific set of limitations and conditions are the best.
