Spring Gathering 2016
TIP’s 2016 Spring Gathering was held on Tuesday, May 24, bringing together TIP Fellows from all four seminars to celebrate the end of another successful program year.
After refreshments and conversation, TIP’s director, Alan Lee, welcomed the Fellows and Seminar Leaders. One Fellow from each seminar shared reflections on their experiences and what they gained from TIP this year:
Amanda Amanullah (Lea Elementary School) – The Evolving Universe
Nicole Flores (Mitchell Elementary School) – Biography as History, or, Perhaps, History as Biography
Cara Wallin (Shawmont Elementary School) – Our Earth, a Fragile Home
Jada Warfield (Sayre High School) – Thinking Black, Writing Revolution: The Harlem Renaissance in Conversation with the Black Arts Movement
Thank you to all Fellows, Seminar Coordinators, Teacher Representatives, and Seminar Leaders for making this year a great success! Congratulations, and best wishes as you finish the school year and your curriculum units!
